What: Lorac TANtalizer Firming Body Bronzing Mousse, $32

Why: It claims to be the secret of Hollywood makeup artists— a skin-firming, self-tanning mousse that applies easily and uses caffeine and anti-cellulite ingredients to fight bumps. While it didn’t cause any firming or toning miracles on my body, I love the golden glow (not at all orange, thank goodness) and soft shimmer it left behind. The grapefruit-vanilla scent is also a fresh change from those usual self-tanner odors.

What: Nine West Sorcerer Sandal, $64

Why: As noticed by the NY Times this weekend, the gladiator will always be in our closets but not always on our feet. The traditional Roman style has been our best foot friend for a while, but it looks as if some women are getting antsy and are now opting for a strappier, less obvious version. I feel the angst as well, and have recently purchased a pair of Nine West Sorcerer sandals, which keep the gladiator feel alive, but offer something a bit less intense.

I own them in both green and nude and have decided to retire my black gladiators for the summer. They deserve a rest.

Why: Whenever the weather gets nice, I'd rather get my exercise outside than be stuck at the gym. Outdoor exercise is all fine and dandy for my arms and legs, but without someone telling me exactly how to sculpt my abs, I tend to get a little soft around the middle. That's where the Skinny Tank comes in. I can skip a grueling ab workout or two and still show my stuff off outdoors.

The Skinny Tank has a firm but well-disguised band of support right in the middle, where I need a little cinching the most. It resembles the Yummie Tummie in form and function, but comes with a more bargain-friendly pricetag, so you can buy more than one color. I layer the tanks under lower-cut shirts and cropped blazers and get a killer (if faux) hourglass figure, and I wear them on their own when I'm running around on the weekends.

SheFinds found three summery beach totes that don't scream 'tourist' when you walk onto the beach.

Beach bags are tricky. Finding the right one can be a needle-in-the-haystack search, especially if you don't want a print that screams "vacation". You want a bag that will protect your valuables, look cute, and still be roomy enough for sunscreen, a change of clothes, and the second installment of Twilight (or that intellectually stimulating book you've been meaning to read).

1. With its hobo shape (or lack thereof), you can stuff almost anything into American Apparel's Cotton Canvas Tote ($20, multiple colors). The bag also comes with a zippered side pocket which is perfect for keeping your cell phone and other valuables handy.

2. For a slightly more refined option, try Tory Burch's Tory Tote ($250). The bag is plenty roomy, and structured enough to double as a purse. I also think the logo and trim are really fun.

3. A classic straw beach bag, like this Raffia Tote from Calypso ($145), is always a great option. This version has a magnetic snap closure, plenty of pockets, and lining, which is essential for keeping sand from getting in through the straw.
